Spring Tides

In Cornwall the big high tides are evening and morning, allowing us to sail and row 'Outdoor Girl' far inland. Oak woodland overhangs small beaches and forgotten stone quays, salt marshes hide ancient waterways where Romans once traded and curlews and owls call.

During the Covid-19 pandemic each solo customer or group of 2 has their own tent so we can sneak ashore like a smuggler and find a grassy glade to camp. Prices & Dates

Neap Tides

Neap tides occur twice a month and in Cornwall offer high water in the middle of the day. A great chance to show off your new found skills. Sail, row or scull into harbour with grace and seamanship. Drop a stern anchor and sail up to the beach.

Smaller tidal ranges gives us more beach to camp on and a chance to seek day time anchorages in inaccessible coves for wild swimming. Pick your campsite for later, set sail again or collect wood for campfires and chilling after the day visitors have gone home.

5 Day Navigation & Expedition Skills Course

This 5 day course aims to help budding skippers plan their own mini expedition along the coast on an open sailing boat without an engine.

Ideal training for those thinking about buying a boat of their own, or gaining confidence to do more than day sailing with their own boat or sailing dinghy. Your instructor Debbie is a Yachtmaster Instructor who has taught RYA sailing and navigation courses on a 38ft pilot cutter, run Duke of Edinburgh expeditions on boats for young people, run coasteering courses and spent a lot of time rowing to pubs in the moonlight.

How outdoorsy are you? We all find excuses not to be outside when skies are grey but sometimes it is also brilliantly blue and then you kick yourself for not getting out there, or going away for the weekend.

In Cornwall we rarely get frosts and the locals love having our coastline to ourselves in autumn, winter and spring. A gentle way to intrude on that bliss is to sail with a local like Debbie as your adventure buddy.
